Transportation chaos

Hi. Long time since I wrote my last post.Well was busy wid exams..Last week I got chance to visit the financial capital of India- Mumbai. Mumbai is a metropolitan city with modern outloook. It is famous for bollywood , stock markets ,food etc. But its lifeline is the railway tranporation-the local trains that tranport people between their office place and home.
You got to see the sight during morning peek office hour rush. Its maddening. The trains are full way beyond their capacity with every inch space inside trains is utilized. Many just hang outside and above rooftops too.
The city comes to standstill if the trains are not running or are even delayed for few minutes. It is under tremendous transportation pressure as I feel that Mumbai will not be able to sustain the traveling needs of its rapidly growing population and large number of migrants that come here everyday.
People travel like cattle in trains and fights are very common with people getting provocated even for the slightest and insignificant reasons.
My only hope is that the authorities take notice of these and take actionable steps to keep the transportation infrastructure at par with the growing number of commuters. The journey should be enjoyable. The authorities should also look at other means of transportation like running metro trains and monorails. I wish the railways tracks are extended in numbers too so that more trains run simultaneously between two stations and hence the train frequency is doubled.
Completing all pending and unnecessarily delayed transportation projects is the key.As it will not help in any way if transportation facility is increased by twice and the population grows by ten times.
I personally like to travel by bus when I m in Mumbai. The railway crowd mostly consists of daily wage laborers who are indiscipline .But if you want to beat the traffic then railways are the best option.

Broadband Revolution in India

Hi,

A few years ago nobody had ever imagined the advancement in Broadband internet in India.I personally used to feel that using broadband would remain a distant dream and I would have to remain satisfied with 32 kbps internet.

But thanks to MTNL Broadband service (Triband) the dream has become reality. I now use 512 Kbps internet service with unlimited download facility. But the real revolution is the price of service. 512 Kbps , unlimited download is available for just 599 Rs ie $ 13.5 pm.

Here's comparison between my previous internet plan and the current one-

.................................Pevious ISP--------MTNL Triband
Browsing Speed............32 Kbps------------512Kbps
Download Speed............4 KBps-------------64KBps
Download Limit pm........unlimited----------unlimited
Monthly Charge(Rs)........550-----------------599

The speed is amazing.I now enjoy visiting sites like You tube and watch online videos. With 64KBps download speed one can download anywhere between 200 MB and 225 MB in just 1 hour. Earlier I used to get 4 KBps download speed and it used to take hours to even download few Mb size files.

This has opened new competion and I hope private ISP's dont lag behind and offer better services at affordable prices. Clearly the winner here is the ulimate consumer. Again thanks to MTNL Triband. You Guys are the drivers of India's progress.Great job.

My Fav Director

Good to see u again

I am a movie freak and have watched almost every movie. During my graduation I used to watch almost 2 movies everyday ( I dont know how i managed to complete graduation !!).
I also enjoy watching foreign language films (thanks to the classic MALENA..hehe) as like good music language cannot be barrier for good films.
My all time favorite movie is The Lord Of The Rings trilogy and there are tons of other movies i think were good.
Guys you should watch muvis tht may not be box-office success stories but are extremely popular among people like Shawshank Redemption, Pulp Fiction, Schindler's List etc.
Lets talk about the person who is the force behind creating good muvis ie Director. For me one man who is the most creative and imaginative and distantly ahead from the rest is Steven Spielberg.
Steven Spielberg has directed and produced many classics, used cutting edge technologies in films, won 3 academy awards and was nominated for numerous other awards.

His list includes (illustrative and not exhaustive):

Jaws
Close Encounters of the Third Kind
Raiders of the Lost Ark
E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial
Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom
Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade
Jurassic Park
Schindler's List
The Lost World: Jurassic Park
Saving Private Ryan
A.I. Artificial Intelligence
Minority Report
Catch Me If You Can
The Terminal
War of the Worlds
Munich
Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull

Do I need to say more.....

Managing Rude People !!!

Hi,
How you guys doing? Today I am going to talk about a little unusual topic ie Managing rude people. Many times we come across people who don't treat us the way we expect them to do. They greet us rudely, pass nasty comments and we feel negativity when they are around us. These people can be employees working under us, colleagues, bosses and sometimes friends. So how to manage these people? How to retain our calm and composure and get work done from such people? How to use these people productively to our advantage like employees working under us or simply work with these people in the same team.

The reason why I selected this topic is because I faced similar situation today.
I was told to mind my own business without even slightly provocating my colleague. And hence I am determined to learn how to deal with these people as we cannot ignore such people as we will meet them in different walks of life.

When faced with such situation I feel bad and I am not able to concentrate on the task at hand. the result is my whole day is wasted. After retrospecting I have decided to change myself as I cannot change the other person. Taking such people with pinch of salt and immediately clearing the differences with the other person, forgetting and ignoring such incidents are some ways I will handle such people.

I would really appreciate your feedback and similar experiences that you might have faced. Please tell also how you deal with such people , how to work with these people in the same team or workgroup so that everyone is happy.

Bye.
